Finding Your True Inner Balance
I am writing this on the powerful day of the Solar Eclipse New Moon in Libra on 2 October, the sign of balance and harmony in our relationships. It seems rather appropriate to be writing this article as my invitation is to explore – How we may find greater balance in our lives, our relationships and most importantly our relationship with ourselves.
I backtrack a few weeks to mention the Equinox on 21 September as there are similar themes that we are revisiting now and in the coming weeks..
Where I live by the Dorset coast, in the UK the 21 September was the Autumn Equinox, a time of our final harvest and autumn fall as the sun wanes and we begin our journey inwards. For those who live in the Southern Hemisphere this is the opposite – the Spring Equinox is the turning point when the sun gathers strength and there is the promise of new growth and fertility. Both autumn and spring equinox are a point of balance, when day and night, light and dark, are equal. This is a time to pause and reflect on our lives, what the previous cycle has offered us in terms of lessons and gifts and to embrace these in the next cycle.
We have been journeying with the energy of the Equinox and the theme of balance since then and especially since the Eclipse season kicked off with a partial lunar eclipse/Full Moon on 17/18 September.
We are on an incredible journey of deep transformation both personally and collectively as the Eclipse season always offers great opportunity for huge leaps in consciousness. Our new Earth is building within our cellular makeup which is very exciting.
Downloads of new Light codes and plasma nourishes our cells, helping us to transmute and release old energies so that we are increasingly becoming crystalline beings of radiant Light. But this process is not without its challenges. We can feel this intensely in the human experience as this can take a toll on our personal health, and key relationships. Grounding and finding our inner balance become even more important as I go onto explore.
Let us look at what balance means to us and how we might create a more balanced harmonious life.
What does balance mean to you?
Personally, I love to look at balance in several ways, remembering that balance is never static, we are always being invited to adapt and change. We only have to look at our beloved Mother Earth to see how she changes, quite dramatically and suddenly sometimes, to know this is Nature. We are Nature. We are cyclical beings, and we all have a unique rhythm that exists within us since birth. We just need to remember to tune in and listen to it. Many of us live modern stressful lives and have become disconnected from the Divine, all of creation and our unique rhythm. We are now on a fast accelerated journey of remembering our true Divinity and what it means to live a cyclical authentic rhythmic life.
Tune in to your Unique Rhythm
Can you take a moment to close your eyes and place a hand on your heart and feel the rhythm of your breath and heartbeat?
And if you were to stand for a moment, can you listen to your inner rhythm and allow your body to gently move? What rhythm are you noticing that naturally begins to move from within you?
I find if I sit and breathe and be, that I naturally begin to move in spirals around my hips. Everyone is unique of course.
What is your unique rhythm? What difference does noticing your rhythm in this moment have on how you now want to move into the world? Can you stay connected to your inner rhythm?
Have a play and see what you discover.
The rhythm of autumn encourages us to slow down and take the journey back within, finding ways, you can balance your inner and outer expressions, balance your spirit and earthly aspects, the light and dark of who you are, and the divine feminine and masculine aspects to embrace the wholeness of who you are.
As the autumn leaves turn to yellow and golds, and fall to the ground, this is our invitation to let go of those aspects that are no longer in alignment with who we are becoming. Let go and allow them to become the compost that nourishes the fertile soil for new seeds to be sowed.
There is the balance when it comes to embracing both our light and dark, which is the wholeness of who we are. Embracing those shadow aspects, often parts of ourselves we have ignored or suppressed that are ready to be brought home to our hearts to be alchemised in love’s truth.
Balance in our relationships
We have both aspects of the Divine feminine and Divine masculine and when they are expressed in a healthy authentic way, we are in flow, at one with all, we feel peace harmony and balance with ourselves and with others. We feel a sense of unity and wholeness.
The Divine Feminine
As we enter autumn, we are invited to become more Yin, to become more connected to our feminine rhythm and flow. To slow down, to ground into the element of the earth, for she is the embodiment of the Goddess yin energy.
Healthy expressions of the Divine feminine include being creative, caring, mothering of others and importantly us. She is flow, cyclical, she loves spirals, she loves to change her mind, being creative and chaotic often go together. She is highly intuitive and has a deep knowing of who she is and her timing and flow. She needs space to breathe, to rest, to gestate, she is the container, the chalice, receiving and receptivity are her gifts. She invites us to lean back and be open to receive the Universal flow, trusting how life wants to move through us and guide us through our creative inspiration. She is powerful sensual sexual beauty having a direct connection with the primordial life force that feeds our sense of vitality. Our menstrual cycle is our power. When we are in tune with the rhythm of our cycle, and whether you still bleed or not, we can be in conscious connection with the Moon cycles as our guide and Mother of the ocean waves.
- How much are you connected with your feminine energy? How do you honour her in your daily life?
- Are there times when you need to rest and go slow? Autumn is a great time to connect more deeply with our feminine essence and to listen to the wisdom she wants to share with you.
- What is your relationship like with other women, and your mother?
Our female relationships reflect to us those parts of us we may admire in others and also those who we feel triggered by, especially our mothers if we still have wounding from childhood.
If we dig a little deeper these woundings may trigger feelings of insecurity, abandonment and rejection in our relationships, that affect our ability to trust our hearts with another. We may hold issues around our self-esteem and self-worth about receiving without guilt and apology.
Reflect on your relationships and ask yourself:
- Am I over giving/not giving enough in certain relationships or aspects of my life?
- Do I feel comfortable to speak up, to honour my ‘yes’ and my ‘no’, to express my needs and desires without guilt and apology?
- Is there more space for finding a better balance here?
This is always an invitation, however uncomfortable, to take the journey back to our self to see what needs healing.
I know there are many layers and levels to healing and transforming our core wounding. We can revisit many spirals of healing on the same issue, thinking we have already done enough. And we have but often there is another layer from a different perspective that the soul is asking us to receive and learn from.
We are in a process of great change and an opportunity to move beyond our past and to create a new way of being. This eclipse season and the next cycle through to the beginning of 2025 is a great opportunity to do the inner work, which I am sure you are already doing being an amazing light worker and recommit to our path of passion and purpose. Our dreams are possible and now is the time to dream BIG!
Sometimes it does mean we have to slow down to give our bodies time and space to process and recalibrate. So often those in the caring and healing profession are the backbone of society and community. But as spirit always says to me – we must always remember to put our own oxygen mask on first before helping others, whether family or clients. Making self-care is a priority, it is our spiritual responsibility and as you know when we are replenished and full, we are better able to help others from a place of, love, resilience and generosity.
Do you need to lean more into your feminine to support her now? What message does she have for you?
And equally our relationship with the masculine and men and our father may trigger wounding around trusting men and the masculine, including issues around betrayal, fear of judgement and rejection.
As well as being dedicated and passionate about empowering the Divine feminine with myself and other women, I am equally devoted to the Divine masculine as we need both qualities to embrace our sovereignty, both our inner Queen and inner King in sacred union.
We come back to the question of how we find inner balance which is reflected in our relationships with others.
The Divine Masculine
In contrast to the feminine qualities, the divine masculine Yang energy, is the embodiment of the solar rays. He offers the ability to move forward with clarity and focus, with strength and determination. He helps us make decisions leading the way to support the birthing of our feminine creations taking them out in the world. The masculine yang energy is active and giving, as opposed to receptive, he is the arrow that hits the mark. He can also be tender and humble, and a protector and cheerleader of the feminine, protecting her with firm boundaries when she needs rest and replenish, when she is in her deep inner creative process.
I have been very aware of the need to heal the wounding of my inner masculine and a reflection of what has been happening collectively. Remembering that I too have had past lives, no doubt like yourself, where we have been blamed, shamed, and become disempowered for being judged. My journey over recent years has taken me to heal my inner masculine, some of which has been ancestral patterning and wounding having carried the fear of failure, fear of judgement and depression that ran in previous generations.
How do I know what needs healing?
I take a deeper journey within, with my breathe, with my body, knowing that the feminine energy resides more in my left side of my body, while the masculine energy resides more in my right side. It has been a continual process of revisiting each aspect and bringing them to my heart with love and acceptance, alchemising any dense energy in the flames of love so that they can dance in unity and peace.
When my father passed away back in 2011, I was very aware of intense pain down the right-hand side of my body for a few weeks after. I knew this was my father’s energy and so I continued the slow and often painful healing process, using shamanic soul journeys with other therapists and with myself to clear ancestral wounding and to reclaim my power. It has involved past life work too. In doing these layers of healing I have noticed how I am more confident making big decisions, knowing more clearly my yes and no and acting with courage and confidence. I have completed and published my first book in December 2022 Mother Earth is Calling You – Winter Wisdom. It was my feminine who created and flowed with inspiration. It was my masculine that took my book out into the world. Earlier this year, I am delighted to have set up my first Podcast where I offer solo and guest soulful conversations to share wisdom and inspire. (you can find details at the bottom) and I have created stronger boundaries around my sacred space, lovingly and yet firmly telling people if I am available to listen to them or not.
As you reflect on your inner masculine, how does he show up in your life?
- Do you take action to make the changes you seek, or reach towards your dreams? Or do you hesitate unsure, fearing judgement?
- Do you speak up and share your truth? Do you feel you fully express yourself?
- Do you feel valued and recognised by the masculine?
We need to heal and empower both our sacred feminine and sacred masculine consciousness so that we can embrace healthy authentic relationships.
We continually need to revisit our yin and yang, our rhythm of being and doing so we know when to flow and lean back and when to act and lead. We need the strong masculine to give us resilience and strong boundaries to protect the integrity of our inner sanctum. Looking at our internal relationship is a beautiful way to bring harmony and balance to our external relationships.
I discuss more in my latest episode of my Podcast – Episode 4: Finding True Balance in Our Relationships.
When we embody sacred union magic happens…
There becomes a dance of these unified energies in our sacred heart that is initiated from our root chakra. When we are ready our primal life force and kundalini rises, travelling up from our root to our crown expanding with the blissful and enlightened state of the Divine. In Egyptian Mystery Schools we celebrated our sacred sexuality for it led to a deeper connection and celebration with the Divine. As Priestesses we celebrated the joy and pleasure of our sexuality as a joyful expression and blessing of the Divine.
There is much for us to remember and reclaim now. It is our time to return to Unity and that journey begins inside. I am therefore excited to be offering a new 6-week online Programme, Wild Abandon starting soon.
I am blessed to be guided by the beautiful radiance of Goddess Isis and Mary Magdalene who have guided me to support women in reclaiming their sacred sexuality, the union of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine.
